Motorcycle oil for NV5600?

Postby Remps » Sun Sep 22, 2013 2:34 pm

Anyone know if motorcycle oil would be safe to use in a NV5600? I was thinking if it's designed for use with wet clutches and integrated trans/engines that bikes have, it might be better suited than conventional synthetic motor oil? I've read that mobil 1 extreme performance 5w30 can be used, and topped mine up with it 17 000 kms ago with no issues so far. I know royal purple and amsoil make an approved 5w30ish oil that I could order, just looking at alternatives.

Amsoil shipment coming to town Wednesday, I can finally get my long overdue trans oil changed. Shifter has been feeling heavier, slower and less smooth to shift. Hopefully the oil change fixes it.

7000 kms later it is shifting great with the amsoil in it. The difference was noticeable almost immediately driving it with new oil.
