TPS

My TPS is bad, wont even shift into OD now. I was looking at buying a new one. I noticed that the 2nd gen (94-98) TPS' look the same and are cheaper. Will they work on a 1st gen?

for about 35.00 buck's you can put OD on a adjustable pot switch that way you tell trans when it goes into OD very easy to do and saves a ton of Money

I thought the easiest solution on the 1993 I had was using a TPS of a late 1980s Chrysler 3.0l engine. Had 3 wires just like the original and I drilled to holes in the original TPS bracket to mount it, did some adjusting to the voltage setting and it worked flawlessly!

Keep an actual tps on there if you want the vehicle to still kickdown automatically, right?

The Chrysler tps for $35 seems like the way to go.

Diesel, if you use the POT siwtch method, it will kick into OD automaticly, and you can adjsut at what speed it kicks into auto. if you wanted to, you could wire in a 3 position toggle switch, on/off/on. have one "ON" position for the POT switch, "OFF" would be no OD, and the other "ON" position would be to put it into OD when it is switched on.

I've ran the switch and pot mod so far. Sooner or later I'm going to install a early model tips.

Right but what happens when you are on the highway and want to go from 4 to 3. If you push your foot down will it go into 3 automatically? Or if you keep your foot steady and the speed reduces on a grade will it kickdown?

See thats the worst. To me definitely worth getting a $35 tps so the vehicle continues working as intended.

Yeah, I have looked at the pot switch but I would like to keep it factory style. Where can you get the $35 TPS? Part #'s?
