id have to say sutter that i agree with what you have been told. i went and checked all my yolks. the axles were first night tight, only the lash play could be felt. and the t-case had only the slightest amount of end play. but given its design and function id say that thats correct. its not a crank shaft after all. its to know that all common sense theories still apply, thats part of why i love these trucks.

i use a combination of a 6pt socket with extension and a 6pt wrench to get my yolks lose or tight.

good luck with that vibe bud, i hope its not your converter for your sake.

As always you guys are the best.

The U-joint was as tight as can be on the truck. Couldn't get much movement out of the shaft while mounted. Once I got the shaft off the U-joint at the axle was toast.

For some reason grease was not making it to one of the yoke ears, and that ear and cup was just dust and rust. Replaced both U-joints with some USA made Moog joints and we're tight as can be. They were Moog Super Strength or something like that and I got them at Advance Auto Parts.

Thanks again.

choot man i secont that, theres still metal there, grease that bad larry up and stuff it back to work.

the grease ports sometime clog up. its my theory to squirt and manipulate the the joint till grease comes out all ears and then wipe away excess. or just let it fly, prevents rust, undercoats stuff you know. but if grease cannot be forced out all ears it time make time for a r&r
