271k. The transmission is still decent, but the torque converter is toast.

I aim to fix that here shortly.

Dads 93 D250 was pushing towards 299k, orig trans, never rebuilt, just regular service and adjustments. Had the Super Duty cooler too. Not a ton of towing, but summer was filled with hay season for many years

my 93 CCLE 4X4 has really close to 300,000 and still works the converter is very free and needs to be replaced truck has been semi retired until recently when I purchased a 5210 deere 4x4 and now I need to do some work and or upgrades to be comfortable hauling the trailer and tractor around . trying to figure out what trans it has for sure first then what should be done to make it live another 2-300,000 as I really cannoy afford to buy a new truck but why should I the engine runs great and doesn't smoke yet

Matt, that's scary. I'll bet it's due to have bearings put in. Mine had 229k when the counter shaft bearings went out.

This trucks must be flatlander trucks, cause I have had to 4 torque converters and three trannys in the last 300k miles. A course sled pulling and Dyno runs and towing 14000 lbs didn't help.

Nope, Michigan is quite hilly, at least up north it is. We used dads truck for everything, farming/livestock all year long, hay when ready to cut/bale, firewood come fall, general truck duty. Preventative maintenance helps em last,

If we are bringing up manauls, my dad's truck is well over 300,000 and probably getting close to 400k with the original clutch and transmission.

The owner's definition of "broke/needs a rebuild" and driving style have a huge impact on how long they last.

I maintain that you can't kill a LoadFlight with a stock converter. I've been trying for going on 3 years.

91: 290K on a Getrag. Really only needed syncros, but got a full rebuild. Destroyed a month later in a wreck.
92: Unknown. It had 145K when I bought the truck and 165K when the A518 was overhauled. Found out at that time the transmission had been replaced with an unknown mileage junk yard one that was in sad, sad shape.
RIP 91.5 W250 5 speed. The great experiment.

My dad drives like a grandpa and when he tows a trailer (which isn't real often), he always tows under the gwr and slows down even more. Suffice to say he uses it real nice. He's the only guy I know that has gotten 28 mpg out of a tank in a 4x4 3/4 ton. Heck the best I got out of my last 2wd was 26 mpg. I'm still trying to figure that one out.
