A518 trouble

My trans lost all forward gears but I still have reverse. I found a 727 for a Cummins. Besides losing overdrive what other problems may I have switching it over

Drive shaft is a different length.
92 D350 Cab and Chassis. Auto stock, wiring gremlins. 330k miles
92 W250 Ext cab rotted completely out. Auto, pump maxed, 215 ppump nozzles, Denny T2 pin.
85 D350 single wheel, converted to cummins, getrag, turned up 2 turns and afc screw flush.

Do you have manual 1st?

Do you know the difference in drive shaft lengths.

No I mean Manual first gear. Drive doesn't apply the rear band in first but Manual first applys the rear band. Hopefully Cmann will see this because he just swapped a 518 inplace of his 727. Is yours 2wd?

I've tried putting it directly in first gear and still nothing.

Also with a 727 your top speed will be about 55mph. My 92 cab and chassis lost od and I was against the gov. at 60mph. which wasn't fun going down the interstate.
