Rear main seal is leaking pretty good. Need to remove the 2wd A518. Question is can I pull all the bellhousing bolts from underneath? Any tips on how to just move it back a foot or so and then reinstall?

First off on Pass side of Motor under oil cooler there is a small Plate with 2 bolt's 13mm that you have to remove .Once removed you can take the Torque converter bolt's Off.Right next to that hole is a plug that is for the Barring tool hole you turn the Motor over as you pull the torque convert bolt's I believe they are 16mm 6 point . To start with Take the cross member off make sure you have a good trans jack under it .Once cross member is off then Tilt Motor down some so you can reach the bell housing bolt's .Also take driveline loose and move out of way.May be a Great time to do U joint's also.

Thank you. Just did u-joints because they were badddd. Question is: do rear mains ever suddenly let go on these? Mine is leaking pretty solid now but I can't do the job until at least a week or two from now.

Sometimes. I've seen 2 of them that were loose and I pulled them out with my fingers.
