overdrive not engaging

Postby ESC93W350 » Thu Feb 26, 2015 8:45 am

Had to change my IP, before that issue everything was just fine. Since putting the new pump in, my O.D. won't work at all.
Any ideas on what could be causing this? Cruise control works, so I don't think it's a tps problem, but don't know. The only thin connected to the trans that came off, was the linkage.
Any direction is appreciated. Thanks.

How is the adjustment on the throttle valve cable/linkage. That would cause it not to shift into overdrive. And I don't believe that the ecm cares much what the TPS says during cruise. It mostly just looks at VSS and brake/clutch pedal inputs.

Most likely your TPS. I'm sure you put it back on correctly so it is indexed correct but try taking it off and put it on indexed a little forward by spinning up and installing.

While its off, cycle the switch a bunch to try and clear off the riding surface inside.

If still nothing give the speed sensor on the tcase a look. They can get loose.

I Have adjusted the tv cable/linkage, checked the tps and don't get any voltage change when moving the throttle. I'll try the re-indexing the tps, but think it may be no good.
Everything was working perfectly until I had to replace the injection pump, but I know when electrical stuff goes, it just goes. Could the line pressure sensor on the cooler line cause this. It shifts fine through the othe gears, just won't engage o.d. at all. So I'm stuck back roading, since 55mph spins me at 2300rpm.

If no signal out of TPS then I think we have the answer. There is a "low buck" tps option thats $35-40 instead of the $250 oem one. I believe it will be a little more expensive if you get a Mopar low buck sensor but probably worth it.

Anyone have a link to the low buck option? It would be appreciated.
Thanks,
