Nv5600 flywheels?

Postby josh_6bt » Sat Jun 20, 2015 8:45 pm

My getrag blew up this weekend. Gonna swap a nv5600 in its place. Question is my question has a 550hp SBC. Can I reuse my flywheel and buy a new clutch disc and pressure plate for a 6 speed? If I can't use it will a common rail flywheel work? And lastly what's everyone's thoughts on using a bronze pilot bushing?

You should be able to just buy a disc with the 1 3/8" spline to work with your pressure plate. IIRC the early 5600s had an 1 1/4" input shaft so there are a few of them out there.
93 w250 6 speed 4" exhaust, caution, work truck, she's no beauty. building 1 ton dually 4x4, dana 80, 48rh, 205 Scratch the one ton, bought frt. dually 4x4 98 12 valve with the tiny rear doors. rides so much better than the 93.

I have an NV5600 flywheel in my truck with my Getrag. They just sent me a disc with the correct spline when I upgraded my clutch to the 650hp ceramic one.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

I have the whole NV5600 rig in my 1990. SBC flywheel and a Luk 05-101 OE clutch. You will need the Gen2 starter too since you're going to be running the thicker Gen2 spacer. Mine uses the spacer. I am not making power like Pete so I avoided the huge clutch...:)
