NV4500 gear replacement?

Postby 9312v » Sun Aug 16, 2015 4:54 am

I got ambitious yesterday and pulled my NV out. I have been having an issue with third gear for a year or so now where I couldn't down shift without a terrible amount of grinding and up shifting took some finesse. The clutch was on its way out as a good romp in third it would just slip so time to upgrade. I got the top cover off and noticed that first gear has some wear on the edge. Image
The reverse idler gear has one tooth that has a corner that's gone but the main shaft gear and counter shaft look fine to me.

Third gear syncro missing half of its friction material.

This is the worst spot on the pressure plate.

There is some galling on the input shaft and all of the shift fork pads were gone. On a plus side 5th gear nut didn't move.
