93 D250 Transmission

First post / new to the site! I have a 1993 D250. I was wondering what type of automatic transmission I have? When you first put it into drive it wont move but then engages. It has 180,000 miles on it. I changed the fluid recently, not a flush and fill though. It's not my daily driver so I'm not too worried about it but I wanted to see what you guys had for fixes. Thanks

The problem your seeing is called converter drain back. It happens when you let it set for a extended time. The converter will drain out. Most shift kits have provision in them for the drain back problem. In those trans the converter does not fill up till the trans is taken out of park. There is no fluid flow in Park. If you put the trans in neutral for a minute or so before trying to move the truck. The converter will be filled.

your trans is called a 518.
