If you need anything let me know, Id be happy to cut you a deal to help out, maybe barter without cash. I cant pm yet but thats not hard to fix. Im a half hour east of Chico.

There might be something you can help me on, just waiting on the HE from CumminsPower59. Think he shipped it today.

Do you have the steel line that goes from the HE to the front cooler? That's the only one I need. Going to plumb the rest to the rear cooler with hydraulic hose.

Ordered the gasket and bolts from dodge dealer today, hope it was worth it Philip. :D $135

Can't figure how to do the front band (2 turns back ) going to take some thinking, not very much room.

Still looking for a good temp guage/sensor and install into the pan.

Just waiting on parts at this point, mainly HE from CumminsPower59.

They rapped you on that gasket. Last one I bought was $35.

Next time you walk into a dealer ask that parts person if he works on commission. If he does walk out and find another dealer.

I'll call my dealer tomorrow and get a true price on it. Don't take it out of plastic until I post back.

I use a either 1/4 or 5/16 wrench to turn the band adjuster back out, easier to count the turns. ;)

Im sure I have it, I haven't tore anything apart yet. Just found out I wont be home for a couple weeks then the weekend I do get to go home I have to pull a graveyard shift at Sierra Nevada Chico to demo their old hops strainer that we replaced last month. What kind of timeframe are you looking to be running in? I dont mind giving you that hardline but itd be a couple weeks out.

Does that line have npt fittings and if so what size?

I'll wait on the gasket Philip, good looking out, think he said $45 for gasket and $5.35 per bolt. Thought it was a little much.

I start work after next week, hoping to have it together by then. But if it doesn't, no big deal. They got me a 2015 F450 with a 6.7 and Bradford bed to haul my new 20' Featherlite. Fits 7 mules and has a tack room. It's a auto, but what can you do. I'll post a picture once I figure out how.

I'm looking to use this truck for hunting season, maybe hauling to Idaho for elk and muleys. Local hunting for sure. If anyone knows a good spot, might be willing to trade for some packing into the wilderness.

Want to upgrade to a manual eventually, but also want this tranny to last a bit longer. Truck has 167k, felt tight before I took it apart.

Thanks for all the info, more questions to follow. :D

Just called another dealer that's a little further away, 1/2 the price for gasket and bolts, they are shipping it to me for $45 less than the other dealer! Want to call them up a give a piece of mind, but I digress. :D

Ok on the gasket list is $48 so they gave you a little off on it. The bolts the list price is $2.77 each. So they are gouging you pretty good on them.

Believe they are 1/2" npt fittings, someone can correct me if I'm wrong. But 1/4" npt into the tranny. I have that fitting, just need the 1/2" line from heat exchanger to front cooler. Should have 1/2" fitting on one end and slip on towards the front.
Where did you get your getrag 360?

If youre in a hurry to get it running you might consider bending some tube and putting compression to npt fittings at the ends. I have copper 1/4" for the clutch hydraulics in my mbz, Id think it would be fine with atf at <250F and the relatively low pressures that its pumped at.

I bought a complete wrecked 5 speed 92 W250 a few years ago with intention to fix it but the frame is toast so its a parts rig now.

Are you converting to 4x4? Might be interested in the Tcase.

I want to find a junker as well, with the 5 speed, my buddy said he would sell me a rebuilt nv4500 that came out of a chevy for $1000.

That's not the same caliber of 4500 if it came from a gas burner. It's weaker than a getrag in my opinion.

I am going to 4x4, my main reason for buying the truck even though it was effed up, had 180k and was a damn shame it got wrecked, not a speck of rust just some leaks and the kid I got it from must have maxed the smoke screw. Now Im sitting on an extra 12 valve that needs a home...

If I remember correctly, a chevy nv will take a different t case adapter and youd still be on the hook for the cummins bellhousing.

I don't know if I'm sold on getting a nv45, might go for the NV56 or g56. But that's in years to come, hopefully I can make this tranny work a little longer, just afraid about pulling heavy loads, but that's why I bought it. Worst case, I burn up the tranny and have to replace with what I want.
