Np205 input shaft bearing issues

Postby Collers9640 » Fri Apr 22, 2016 1:47 pm

I'm not sure where to post my question since there's not a transfer case section so I'm posting here...

I have a few questions for those that have rebuilt their np205s.
First- Can someone tell me what bearing came stock on the front input shaft,
I asking because mine has a MRC 210MG (210 NRTN9/C3) it has 15 bearings, is this the original?
I purchased a new bearing kit that came with quest bearings and the input shaft bearing doesn't fit. There's not enough clearance to get the lock ring in, even the MRC bearing the I removed overlaps into the lock ring groove and it appears that a lock ring was just sized and the width of lock ring needed was slipped in.
Is that the way they came from the factory?

Second- I trying to find a good deal on idler shaft shims does anyone know a place?
quad4x4 wants like $38 + shipping for a kit which is upsurbed in my opinion.

Third- Is there a post that has a list of all the stock part numbers for np205 bearings?

In response to the input shaft bearing not fitting....Is your transfer case behind an auto or manual transmission?
If it is behind an auto transmission, is it possible the bearing you bought is for a 29 spline "big bore" transfer case and you need a bearing for a 23 spline input shaft?
