The transmission is finally going back together. The original overhaul shop sold me a V10 trans. Not only did he sell me a junk trans, he also sold me the wrong trans. So, a few more parts needed to get replaced. Fortunately the guy working on it now was able to get all the parts, most importantly the governor.

Hooray, my 92 is back in my driveway. Today I take it to the hangar (my shop) and start the wiring. Went for a test drive with the transmission guy manually switching OD and LU in and out. I had no idea that truck had that much power, all previously lost through the torque converter. No wonder he was tickled to drive it and he has a 600hp Duramax. The build turned out to be a pain because it was a V10 in sad shape. It has parts from the V10 47RH, a diesel 47RH, and some parts from a 48RE. He didn't charge me for the good used parts he put in because he had so many laying around, and he likes me.

Glad you got it back finally, and good thing the guy likes you. Those transmission guys can get pretty deep in your pockets if they want to.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Wouldn't you know it. Down to just a few more wire and the speed sensor wiring harness extension Compushift sent me has one wrong end on it.

Made it through the last hurdle yesterday with the CompU, I hope. After the speed sensor harness, found out the TPS harness was wired backwards for the Cummins application. After fixing that I was able to complete the initial calibration. Now it's drive and tune. Also found out my transfer case linkage is messed up. Can't get into 4 low. So I gotta fix that.

Made a little progress on the 92 yesterday. Working on the settings in the CompU, this is not going to be easy. With the factory setting they say should work didn't. No OD and no LU. Finally got both to come on, but not even close to the right parameters. Their manual could use some work, not complete or very clear on some things. Items in the settings menu aren't mentioned in the manual. Other reference settings can't be calibrated. It was nice to see the boost gauge go past 30. Was only able to top 22 before.

Finally! Got the settings on the Compushift close enough to put the 92 back on the road. Still needs some fine tuning for around town, but good enough for now.
