Need a new throttle valve cable

Postby cougar » Tue Oct 25, 2022 6:33 am

I need a new TV cable for the transmission. The old one is about shot and sticks. Just starting the search and not having a lot of luck so far. Can anyone steer me toward an original OEM MOPAR cable? Not too thrilled about an aftermarket knock off considering the quality of junk coming out of China. :;-|:

As far as I remember the actual new dodge ones stopped being produced many years ago. The one on my 89 has a couple broken strands on the end, but I have been nursing it along.

Hey Richie, look into a Lokar KD-2518HT. Someone on another forum pointed me that way.

Think I got my problems solved. I took advantage of a dead day at work and got the cable out. Cleaned it inside and out then covered the bad sheathing sections with shrink tubing with the adhesive in them. Then I pumped a low temp grease through it, one we use in aviation. Moves much more smoothly and doesn't hang up the throttle. As for the OD and lock up issue, I replaced the TPS. Works good again.

Fabricating your own parts will be the ONLY way to get stuff for these things before long.
