Either one of those engine oils will be fine in the tranny. Some guys will use 80W90 in the getrag, I've never tried it.
In the 205, it gets a healthy dose of 80W90 gear oil.
Is it oil coming from the trans or the t-case? Which one is getting low? I'd be keeping a close eye on the levels of oil, and if anything starts making noise. If the trans starts making a new noise, pull it out ASAP and save it, don't drive it until it fails. I'd be draining the oil from each and pulling the covers off the getrag and see if the shafts move front to back. This is bad if it does.
It sounds like the oil is getting hot and when it idles the gears are making the oil aeriated, or foamy and pumping it out. Maybe the breather is plugged up and the oil/preasure is pushing out the back of the trans. Where in MO are you? I'm in SE Iowa.
