well i got the truck back from the tranny shop today, wow wow wow, what a diffrence, its got good hard shifts now and its fast

the converter is a bit looser so it takes an extra second to spool the twins but i can easly biuld 60psi

only thing is i still cant keep the temps in control, i still see 230 to 240f i have a dd pan and a BD cooler with fan under the bed. i guess im going to have to move it. any other ideas.

That's converter slipage. Don't romp everywhere you go. Otherwise maybe try adding some large capacity external filters to get more fluid in there.

Where is the temp sensor located? Are you sure the fan is working on the aux cooler?

the temp sensor is located right at the exit of th tranny fluid to the cooler.

I might try putting another fan or filter in there, thanks for the idea

i have been driving alot the last few days and it hasnt been tobad, unless its petal to the metal at every light, if i drive it nicely they stay fine

on saturday we had a truck pull, i pulled 160 feet in 2wd, with 600ld of weight in the back, i won the 2wd comp, not tobad fro a first timer, lol
and the temps were good.

hey ken if you read this i saw your budy with the big red 3500 reg cab, with the twin 8inch stacks, nice truck.

CK, might be worth while to put a 2nd temp sensor in the pan. It's obvious that the converter is making heat, but is the cooler cooling it?
I put an aux fan cooler on my cousins F550. I put his sensor in the pan, so I know what temp oil is circulating thru the trans. His temps don't get much above 190 or so unless he's pulling really hard, (14-16k) and you can hear his fan kick on. I put that one last in line, after the 2 stock ones. If it stayed hot, we were going to bypass the radiator cooler.
Just a thought for ya.
