ya what i wana do is build it :D so for now i think the yukon gears that are chromally and rebuildin this one should be good for now,the shop specilizez in 4 wheelin and muddin so when i was talkin to them they were tellin me that when they do the gears and a few other tricks they know that it will handle it but i got to find an 80 for sure :D thanks guys again

I'm glad it got you home Randy. So much for 'no such thing' as a Dana 60 DUALLY rear end  8) 8) 8) . I gave Randy my D60 dually rear end, swapped the sissy 60 yoke for his D70 yoke and slapped all his brakes, guts and hubs onto the baby 60hd rear end and guess what, it was wider by about an inch, hmm, but it fit. The good thing, the spring perches lined up. You gonna reuse the yoke we had to beat onto the pinion   ? Don't pitch that rear end, I'd take it back off your hands the next time you're over this way, or I'm out that way.

If you get to SE MO, you can drop it of at my house, too. I can relay it to Bill's next time I head that way. Or maybe Christina can, who knows?

Glad you got back home alright.

I have a D80 under my pickup- might sell if for the right price. I also still have some D70 parts left from my C&C axle. R&P went in the W350.

Are Yukon gears as good as Spicers? I see that they are quite a bit less costly for a D80 3.31 (what the 2wd will get if I sell the 4x4), but am leery of a lower price- get whatcha pay for, you know.

Yukon is made in China, but the stuff I've been running in my Chrysler 8.75 rears seems to be pretty good quality. Don't know about the Dana parts, but the Chrysler axles are NHRA certified and I've been runnning two different R&P sets for a couple years now with no issues. Another no-name Chinese R&P set I have howls like a banshee.

YMMV.

I've had good luck with Yukon parts. I've had 2 sets of gears and a pair of their alloy axles. Although I did blow up one set in my jeep, but that was operator error mixed with a rock punching a hole in my diff cover  .

That's right. But, I think the D80 may be sold with the truck it's under. More updates as I get them.
