So I finally purchased my first diesel. 90' 250 4WD. The kid I bought it from said they had swapped 5spd's from a 94' into the 90'. He also said that the slave cylinder was bad. No big deal. So new slave cylinder and the clutch still won't disengage. Then I replaced the MC. Nothing. I then remembered the tranny was a 94' and got a slave cylinder for a 94 and...... still nothing. There is fresh clean fluid, bled properly. I don't know where to go from here, any ideas ? Thanks for the help - Caleb

I was hoping that wouldn't be the next step, What would I be looking for ? The clutch does disengage slightly. Enough that if it is in gear, clutch in all the way and you are on the brakes it will have a load on the engine, but when the brakes are released the truck start to move as if the clutch weren't even depressed
I pulled the trans out - The pilot bearing looks to be worn, the release fork bearing was all gummed up with fiber and the clutch disk was "dished" along with the pressure plate being grooved and hammered. So I ordered a clutch kit with the HD clutch disk new pressure plae and pilot and throw out bearing and should have it in tonight or tomorrow night. I will let you guys know how it goes and whether or not it fixs the problem
I have heard of the clutch disk being installed backwards, and it causing similar issue's. Just something to watch out for, pullin trannies ain't fun, and nobody like to do it twice.
