HD pilot bearing ??

Postby mprmn08 » Wed Feb 18, 2009 9:09 am

I just bought the HD pilot bearing upgrade for my truck and had a question. When you bore the flywheel, do you bore it just deep enough so the bearing sits flush with the front of the flywheel or do you want it recessed in there a little ways? i know you want a step left for it to sit on but how deep? thanks

I'm sorry but I can't answer your questions for sure, but I have one for you. Are there any numbers on the bearing its self?

Thanks, Aaron

I've heard you want to leave about an 1/8 inch shoulder

You want a good solid shoulder, not sure how thick- mine is flush with the rear (clutch disc side) of the flywheel. There is 1/16-1/8" on the other side of it.
