Postby 92 D/UNIT » Sat Mar 31, 2007 9:51 am

Im getting ready to change the sauce in my getrag, and was wondering what works the best? not what the factory recommends. has anybody ran anything that they swear by?

I run 5-30 synthetic---wally world brand. Comes in a 5qt jug and is reasonably inexpensive.

Some body did a poll on TDR. Most people run 5-30 synthetic. 15-40 dino was a close 2nd. I can't remember after that. I run 15-40 dino. Don't forget to add the extra quart! :)

If it's not too late, I'd like to put in a plug for Royal Purple Synchromax.

You need 4.5 qts to overfill.

I have been running Wally World 15-40 in mine since I reshimmed it lat fall. I have the parts to rebuild it, and will go with a synthetic in the 5w40 or 15w50 range. I like the idea of a slitghtly thicker oil than the 5w30, yet lighter than the 75w90 gear oil.

I just dump in 5 qts and run it. I've done it since I heard about overfilling them several years ago.
