Linkage slip in steering tree

I am about to figgure out why I can not engage my truck in P. Reverese is as far as I can get it to go. Any one have any experience with this before i start tearing it apart?

Climb underneath and have someone work the lever. I bet you have bad bushings in the linkage. This will give lots of slop that can't be taken up by the travel of the lever.
