It isn't a cable. Its a piece of string. Drop your cover under the column. On the right side of the steering coulimn there is a L shaped tab sticking out. That is what the string hooks to. Find the end of the string and replace it if it is broken.

Mine (I have an instrument cluster from an auto- dont trust me when I tell you it has "only" 200K) and Mom's both have small cables that hook into the shift indicator and the column.

My string broke so I stole a piece of my mom's sterling silver bracelet stuff and made a stronger one.

Just find the broken ends and tie them together. No need to buy new string. :D

I wanted to make the one this last weekend. But the guy changed the day for me to pick up my axle housing from Saturday to Sunday. It was around 8:00 AM when I went threw the area on Sunday morning. When I came back threw it was around 5:00 PM I figured everyone was gone by then.

Me and Case500D left at 4:00 AM it was 10:30 PM when we got back here. That was a long day on the road.

For anyone going east on 81 out of Knoxville, TN at exit 36 is a T/A truck stop. "Do Not eat there".

Just use any string you have around the house. Dodge didn't use anything special.
