91 auto to nv4500 manual??

Postby mrector » Thu Jun 07, 2007 11:55 pm

I am going to convert my 91.5 w250 to 5-speed. The reason for converting is, it's going to be a sled-puller only :) I wont need any gauges like speedo's, or the like, so those holes I will fill with gauges!

My queshtions are:
Will the NP205 transfer case bolt up to the nv or will I need an adapter, and where to get said adapter?

I assume I will have to relocate the crossmember, will I?

Peddles, I can handle no biggie here.

Also, what's the differences in the 1st gen and 2nd gen 12v heads? Other than injectors.

Thanks in advance,
Mikey

Atcually, the heads are about the same- the only (major) difference in injector bodies is the threaded portion in the top. I have heard the 2ndGen heads may or may not flow better. Either way, you'll probably want to port and polish it anyway.;)

Auto NP205 wont bolt up to manual NP205- different spline counts. 23 vs 29, I THINK (dont hold me to that, but I know they are different).

Thanks, D. I did some searching on TDR since I've posted this, shouldve done more searching.....

MadMax over there has a thread that distinguishes all the required parts, good thread.

You are right, the autos have the 23 spline case, and the manual has the 29, the manual case wil bolt right up to the nv4500. Pedals are a direct bolt in from 81-93 dodge trucks.

Thanks for the info on the head, so this means I can run 2nd gen injectors granted I use thier lines and the p-pump? (reason is, I already have the injectors and pump/case, so the swap wont be that hard or costly.)
