Fuel gauge sender ?

Ok getting ready to put the fuel tank in the duck. I changed every harness in it to the 93's. My question is the 93 sender has a 4 wire plug. The sender on the 83 tank has 2 wires. I can't change the sender so is there a way to get the gauge to work?

Shoot, I can't remember the colors and which does what, but one is grounded, the other is the level feed.
A 3rd is the low fuel light trigger.
The 4th is for the (gasser) fuel pump.

The newer wiring for our trucks is generic, in that it incorporates an electric pump feed, even though our trucks don't have an in-tank pump.

I want to say the wires in the sender to the plug receptable are red, black, green and blue.
Black is ground, and, I believe blue is the sender level.

There are three wires that connect to the gauge level variable resistor. The dark green/black [see note 1] connects to one end of the wire wound coil/resistor and the dark blue/yellow connects to the other end of the same coil/wire wound resistor. The gray/black which is the ground wire connection connects to the wiper that gets moved by the fuel level float. The gray/black wire is connected to the black wire in the harness which puts both of them at ground. The black wire that goes to the plug at the tank is not connected to anything in the plug's socket. I figure it was the ground for the gasser's fuel pump. IIRC the gauge wires connect to the gray/black wire and the dark blue/yellow wires. The low fuel light is triggered by the dark green/black wire. If the gauge operates in reverse, as in goes from empty to full, then reverse the dark blue/yellow with the dark green/black wires. These are my reference notes from my 92 shop service manual.

Note 1: wire color code= wire color/tracer color

Ok so the 83 has a green and a yellow wire. The 93 has a green with yellow stripe, green with grey stripe and 2 back wires. Black is ground but confused on the others. It's been a long day.
