Had a brake light problem when I got my truck (wouldn't come on). It was plugged in, but to the wrong plug. Then, they wouldn't turn off like they should with the pedal released.

The PO (or maybe the one prior) had the brake light switch held to the bracket with zip ties. Kept slipping past the brake pedal and staying on.
Found that the bracket was either the wrong one one, or it was damaged. So, after several failed quick fix attempts (e-clips and such not holding), I pulled the switch and bracket out. Got my 1/2"-13 die and cut threads on the switch body and put a nut on it. Works just fine now!
