Beer break  , here's mine:

That's the one for my electric water pump, but I'm running the same one for all my underhood key-on hots was well. It shows the suppression diode in the diagram and I haven't had it ruin anything yet.

Actually, that isn't a diode. What is that symbol?

:edit: Here's how I have my underhood hots ran:
Image
The blue wire that comes off the keyswitch now goes to blade "85", with "86" running to a ground. I have a fused(I hope) wire of unknown giant gauge coming from the battery hot into the "30" blade, and then the "87" blade continues on to where the factory splice is. You can see my giant crimp over there with the green wire from the relay running into it. This didn't completely cure my pulsing, but it is now so slight that I can barely notice it. I can notice the gauge wiggling slightly, but I can't tell the lights are flickering. I'd say a smaller relay designated for the voltage regulator sense wire would cure it completely.

Also, that crimp of blue wires I'm always talking about that powers all your underhood stuff is right where that giant copper one of mine is. If you cut your loom up in that area you should find it easily. This is on a '90 model truck, so the newer ones with the computer may be a bit different.

SWEET! thanks, that helps.

The zigzaggy symbol is a resistor, the other is a diode i think???

took electronics class.... failed it

I can tell. :P

The zig-zaggy symbol is the field coil that energizes when a current passes through it and pulls the contacts closed. I meant the box with the slash through it. It means a lot of things, but usually the slash extends outside the box and has different ends on it to represent different functions.

Also, I'm not totally sure on my 85 and 86 routing. Make sure you have the hot and ground passing through the coil the right way or it will make the diode meaningless. I have no idea what the correct way it, I'll try to look it up.

Hmmm, maybe you're right. The more I look into that symbol the more I think it's a magnetic coil and thezigs are something else. (probably a resistor)

The little box is the diode, the wavy line is the electro-magnet. You had it taco

Never seen a diode look like that on a relay or schematic. :?

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Yeah, Diodes pretty much always show some sort of one-way figure. That doesn't really show much of anything. I still think the box is the magnet since the dashed line goes through the zig zag and connects to it.

I've always taken the wiggling line to be the magnet but after googling it for awhile I see that it is not :| The line box with the catywampus line in it is. I don't have a clue what someone was thinking on that other thing. Stuff like that is what makes vehicles wiring a pain :yuck:

This had some good info
