no power with key. HELP

hey guys, my buddys truck up north in camp is having ignition issues, when using the key to start the truck, no power to anything thru the ignition switch so in order to start, he tied into the main power wire on the ignition and jumped to the black and orange wire , ran a toggle switch with constant power to back feed the ingition switch and now it works, figured it was the ignition switch, i pulled a good used one from my 91 gas job, plugged it in, still dead in the water without the toggle. any ideas?? checked the grounds and fuse block, relays and looked for damaged in line fuses, couldnt find anything. im stumped. were trying to get the truck running properly because he'll be headed home soon and has about a 1700km trip to make. thanks guys

im thinking theres a inline fuse i didnt see/ check, what wire is for ignition power. where should i start tracing it from??? thanks for the help guys

If you have a Multimeter, pull your ground off your battery, and check continuity across the two top most wires in this pic:



One of those two orange ones are key-on power. I cut mine out and ran a 20 amp blade fuse from the hot post straight to the other side of that specific fusible link.

thanks for the help tacoclaw. it was the fuseable link. that truck was a wirring nightmare, spent over an hour pulling wires out of it that shouldnt be there. previous owner had a camper on it and did some scarry wirring which didnt help today at all. we tested the line with an ohm meter after the fuseable link to ignition, it checked good, then from the same spot to the pos battery post, no good, spliced in new wire and everything was good, took the fuseable link that we cut out (bout 3"s of extra wire on battery side) and it tested good, took it apart, still together. dont know wtf?? but its working now so thats what matters, make it a little more trusting for the drive
