Turn Signals Blinking Fast

Postby collegekid » Wed Jun 08, 2011 8:56 pm

When I turn on my turn indicator, it blinks three times and clicks, then blinks three times really fast with no blink, WTH is this, its driving me nuts.

Could just be your flasher in the fuse box. That would also be the cheapest fix.

Are all of your bulbs working?

Most cars are set to blink fast when they lose a bulb, so you know it happened. The whole 3-blink thing is odd, but it's worth looking at as well.

The fast blinking when you blow a bulb is after our trucks came out.

Wife's Dakota did this a couple years go, and my first thought was a flasher, but she said it was a bulb.

Possibly a bad flasher, but I bet it's due to those fancy LEDs you just installed. Get a heavy duty electronic flasher, some even say they are led compatible. Old thermal flashers and no-load LEDs don't play well together.

they have been flashing fast since I bought the truck, which had the original lights all the way around, Im going to replace the flasher relay, already have one, just seems to be at the bottom of the To-do list, and see what happens, if I don't get what I want, ill try a heavy duty LED compatible flasher
