AC Blower motor resisstor block.. Were is it?

Postby Chuck Snider » Wed Aug 22, 2007 4:50 pm

Hi guys and electronic gurus.... I have lost my blower motor and it seems as the resistor block is my problem.. I can jump the motor and it runs ans I'm getting juice to the speed switch.. is there a certain place the rssistor block lives.. I figured I'd ask before i tore the truck apart.

Drop the glove box down. I think it is mounted in the top of the heater housing.

Where ever it is it will be in direct air flow from the heater motor. These things run real hot when in use.

Thanks!,
I found it. cleaned the plug and now it's working again..It's up on the firewall directly behind the glovebox.. It's cooled by the outside air comming in from the vent under the front windsheild.. It does look like it can get pretty hot.. the lower the fan speed the hotter it gets.. when the fan is on high, the ressistor block gets bypassed and the fan runs directly from the battery.. In case anyone is interested :D
