adding power to non power doors?

Postby redneckroot » Thu Jun 14, 2012 6:33 pm

Is it possible to change my doors over so I can have power windows? If so what all do I need? Thanks.

IIRC, all you need is regulators, motors, door wiring, switches and the breaker(s) for the fuse box.
The dash harness is pre-wired for the windows, so all you need to do is drop the column and tear the cluster out to run the harnesses.

It's not terrible, IMO, but if you're in a hurry, then don't do it on a Sunday night hoping to go to work on Monday.

Mark.

Thanks Mark. Does anyone happen to have all of it for a decent price?

Mark is usually right on things, but this time I disagree. Better check the harness and make sure the plugs are there before you go buying parts. I didn't have any LE stuff in my harness, cruise, interval wipers, power windows, etc. If you have an LE truck, then it probably is there, but if is an LE, all that stuff would be on it. ;)

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.
