intermittent tack

Postby little doug » Thu Jul 12, 2012 9:40 pm

Hi All !

My early 91 has one of those ( dealer installed ? ) Mopar tachs. Here is the deal. If the weather is wet, it works great. If the weather is dry,it doesn't work. If it rained the day before or there was a heavy dew over night, it will work on my commute, but wont work when I start the truck later that day. I have had this truck almost two years and it has done the same thing the whole time. Kind of screwy huh ? Any ideas? :?

Sounds like the crank sensor is bad. When it doesn't work, take a water hose to it. Wet it and see

Well, I haven't had any time to do much except spray the radiator with water. When I did the tach started working. So do you think the cps needs replaced or just adjusted ?
BTW ,Thanks for the idea !
