where is the voltage regulator on a 92 located, my truck wont charge and was gonna try replacing my regulator

It's in the PCM, it does all that stuff. Located behind the battery in the fender. Why do you think it isn't charging?

well im not the best with electronic stuff but i thought i read somewhere the regulators were a prblm and with all my part laying around id just throw parts at it till it works

Put a voltmeter on it and see what it charges. Should be 14.6 or so. If you turn on the lights and heater and it drops way down, it's probably the alternator. If it's only 12 ish, you need to figure out if it's the alternator, PCM, or the crank sensor is bad and not telling the PCM the engine is running.

its constantly12.89 and i have a bad crank sensor so i took it off, didn't know i needed it to tell engine to chargeand just run the tack, i feel stupid lol

Don't feel stupid, you just didn't know. ;) Lots of both around here! :lol: The sensor also turns on the AC, cruise control, and something else I always forget...... :roll:

this is a real friendly place lol but i looked on my 93 and 90 and they dont have cranj sensors, y?

The 93 should have one unless it was removed and a regulator added. The other stuff can be rewired to not need the PCM. Maybe the PCM went bad on it and was bypassed, hard to say.
The 90 won't have one. It will have a regulator on the firewall, just near the head. When they went to Intercooled in 91.5 they added most of that extra crap.

alright ill try throwing a new crank sensor on it and just use a boost pack whenenr i wanna start it

i put a new crank sensor on and it fixed my problems kinda spendy for a lil magnet
