Red, constant hot, wire from somewhere to igintion...

Postby CumminsPower59 » Mon Dec 17, 2012 5:22 pm

I dove into the wiring on my 91 tonight, eliminated seven scotch-locks, removed all the plow light wiring and assorted switches. But where I got stumped was the PO put in a fuse between the battery and the iginition switch, had a 20 amp in it, the wire ran direct from the battery to the ignition switch. Looking at the main junction of the wiring that goes through the firewall, it's on the top row, second from the right. How is this run from the factory? Did it have a fusible link in it to begin with, and if so, how much was it rated for? One of the wires, the right most orange wire coming out of the "duck bill" has been cut off. Don't know if that matters any. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated

It's main power key.feed, I cannot help you with how it was run factory tho as my has been messed with and is attatched to my positive battery termanial via a greenish grey chunck of 12g risible wire. But I too need to clean mine up

I did some digging and found that it was the main power to the ignition switch...but still have other broken wires to deal with
