92-93 service manual

Postby txs » Tue Feb 26, 2013 9:49 am

Could I get someone with a 92-93 fsm to look and see what miller special tool is called for to remove wire terminals from the fuse box? I already bought the miller 6742 tool off flea bay, it don't work for that application. tom

Tom, I looked thru my '93 book and saw no special tools listed. I may have missed it in the text someplace but I looked pretty close. I usually just use an o-ring pick or very small flat screwdriver or both together to get them apart.

Pete, i've tried everything that will fit in the gap between the terminal and the fuse box, them little plastic latches won't let go. I have the replacement box out and with about 6 inches of wire on each terminal and still have all kinda grief gettin em loose, dread to think about rootin around under the dash trying to get them out of the box in the truck. That damn engineer that moved that fuse box from the left of the glove box to under the steering column when they changed body style in 81 should be denutted and hung with a new rope.

I'd have to go to the barn and find my spare fusebox to look and be sure what it is. I can't remember off the top of my head. I know I swapped some around but I can't remember what I used to do it.
I do know that usually when I am removing terminals I have to push the wire in to release before it will come out.

Usually a small pick will work to get terminals out. I have an actual terminal kit, but I've used a pick more often because of service calls and what not.
