Cruise Control

Postby braptor52 » Mon Mar 04, 2013 11:54 am

hello, im trying to add cruise control on my 91.5. i have the plug under the hood on drivers side an was wondering what else i need. my column has cruise buttons on it as well but i never saw an empty plug under my dash for where a cruise control module would go like ive heard about on other 90-91's having. im also curious into what trucks i can steal these parts from? ive heard early 2nd gen trucks use similar parts, is this true?

1991.5s have the cruise module in the ECM behind the battery.
As it stands, it looks like all you need is the cruise servo, which is mounted to the fender.
If you hook it up, be sure to check to make sure there is a fuse in the fuse box.

At the age of these trucks, it would also not surprise me if the clock spring under the steering wheel is bad when you get it all sorted out.

thanks Mark, that helps out a lot. do you know if the 92-93 trucks share the same servo/plug as the 91.5's?

I believe the servo plug itself is the same for 1990-1993.
I've yet to try plugging a 1990 servo into a 1993, yet.
