Cougar, the ECM (PCM) for an automatic transmission is different than that for a manual transmission.

Be carefull that you get the correct ECM (PCM) schematic for your type transmission. Automatic right ?.

The amphonal plug that plugs into the ECM sometime's gets loose or corroded. Make sure it's clean (super clean) and tight fitting in the ECM. The contacts are very small and sometimes go open.

I think I have the schematic for a MT if that will help. May take a little looking.
plus if you decide to replace it make sure you get the correct ECM for your transmission type.
I know the schematic's are available on-line somewhere.

A.S.D. = Auto shut down relay.

Pin #55 >20DR/LG goes to the trans OD solenoid. The PCM didn't show it on the grid chart. But when you go into the section for OD system it shows it there.

Pin #10>20OR/WT goes to the trans OD switch.

Pin #37> 20BK/OR goes to the trans OD switch.

Pin #53> 20LG/RD goes to the cruise servo

Pin #33> 20TN/RD goes to the cruise servo. Vacum controll

Pin#29> 18WT/PK Brake sense

Pin#50> 20WT/LG cruise resume

Pin#48> 20BR/RD cruise set

Pin#49> 20YL/RD cruise on/off

WOW----I don't know that I have ever seen the schematic of the iner workings of the ECM/PCM.

In the meantime I will keep looking, now that I know exactly what you are looking for.

How did you clean the "potting gunk" from the board?
I've tried to clean them and came to the conclusion that knocking off the bigger chunks with my fingers and screwdrivers, then a fine brush on a dremal is about the quickest, yet safest, way to clean it without damage.
Even so, it's a tedious and very dirty task.
