Does your ignition switch/tumbler area get super hot?

Man the metal on my ignition switch/tumbler get HOT! I am guessing good old Chrysler didn't use a relay somewhere and there is full battery current going through my switch?

Well, yeah! You may have something drawing more juice than it's supposed to, or the contacts are getting bad causing heat. You should look into it before you have at the least a small melt down or a fire under the dash.

That's a dodge thing,you probably have a switch issue. Mine does the same,most all do

I would look into it but the switch should only be a trigger to the fuse box when running. It shouldn't be carrying full battery load but from the heat I've felt on the chrome part it obviously is carrying some amperage. I have noticed it for years but today I figured I'd see if you guys have felt it.
