Does your ignition switch/tumbler area get super hot?

Man the metal on my ignition switch/tumbler get HOT! I am guessing good old Chrysler didn't use a relay somewhere and there is full battery current going through my switch?

Well, yeah! :lol: You may have something drawing more juice than it's supposed to, or the contacts are getting bad causing heat. You should look into it before you have at the least a small melt down or a fire under the dash.

That's a dodge thing,you probably have a switch issue. Mine does the same,most all do
93 D250 ,5 speed,4.11s,k&n autometer tach pyro trans boost guages,GDS 60mm h1c 14cm,honed 5x10,hplp/reg,1/8 timing,M+H M2 fuel pin, tims cooler tubz

I would look into it but the switch should only be a trigger to the fuse box when running. It shouldn't be carrying full battery load but from the heat I've felt on the chrome part it obviously is carrying some amperage. I have noticed it for years but today I figured I'd see if you guys have felt it.
