I have a '85 crew cab that I swapped a cummins into. The wiring harness I used is from a '90 truck. The guy I got the harness from said it was from an automatic truck. The harness does not have the Engine Control Module and there isn't even a plug for it. It seems like it's just gone. Is the ECM only for the auto trucks and I got a manual harness? I thought the ECM controlled other things aside from the tranny.

I have an '89 auto. No ECM. From what I understand (and could be wrong) is that Cummins trucks didn't have an ECM until 1991.5 to control the OD in the 518 trans.
