I never checked the fuses, because the coolant temp gauge still worked and the gas gauge seemed to...though it wasn't accurate

Wasn't the battery, it was the fuse.

Considering my temp gauge still worked (though it was reading a little off) and my fuel gauge never left 1/4 tank (which is where it was) it appeared the only one that quit was the voltmeter.

But, sure enough it was the gauge cluster fuse.

Been there, done that. Drove my D350 hurricane truck for several months, including a trip down to Georgia and back, with no cluster. Finly took it down and had Philip poke around with his voltmeter. It was a fuse. In my defense, I did check the fuse and it didnt look burnt/bad but it wasnt conducting. 1st time Id ever seen that.

Glad you figured it out....and learned the kiss principal at the same time,that one gets me too. :/
