Charging issue is back what do i try next

Postby jmd4993 » Sat Dec 28, 2013 10:56 am

ive been dealing with this charging issue for about 2 months now. i finally figured out that i connected a fusible link wrong and it was charging fine but the eye connectors on the field terminals broke off one day. so i broke that black box apart and just hard wired everything and it worked then after a day it stopped again. i have no clue whats wrong. i still have the old external voltage regulator that i tried before to see if thatll work. i also havent replaced the CPS yet. i tried to find feeler gauges but its supposed to be .050 but the only thing the store had that size was a spark plug gapper and im not gonna be able to fit that in there.

just wondering what else i should try ?

any info is greatly appreciated. thanks

Just try to fit a credit card between them. That's what we've always gapped our pickups with on stuff. They're always about .030", so if you're worried you could stack two corners and get a .010" buffer.

Though I would still pick up an actual feeler gauge set. They're one of those things that pay for themselves within a couple uses.
