RPM ???? what am I doing wrong

Postby hager » Mon Feb 17, 2014 1:36 pm

hello men .I have a problem.so I have a Isspo 3"3/8 tachometer Whiteface blue letters chrome bezel .
#1. I bought the harness that Geno's garage had .
#2. and used it with and without a filter.
#3. Hook it up to my original wiring harness underneath the dash to the colors that they said and to the colors that I read on a good post
I can't even get this thing to move.
the rpm tach is sitting on 3500 rpm all the time is there something wrong with my tachometer?
and what is fluid dampening?

Fluid dampening helps stop the gauge from being shaken to death

Ok. it says not to hold upside down for dampening failure I hope I didn't ruin it.

It could be a bad crank sensor on the truck too if it won't read through the factory wireing.

I put my voltage meter to it and it does read some sporadic numbers and when I push the fuel accelerator lthey change.. so I'm getting something
what does the crank shaft position sensor control on these first gens anyway because there's no sign of it not working

If that were the case, his alternator wouldn't gin.

What model number ISSPRO gauge? (you would think Geno's would have said if the gauge was incompatible with the harness/Cummins-Dodge)

Check out this thread where I've got the FSM diagrams of that plug under the steering column . . . . http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/dev/ ... p?t=185725

FWIW: I installed the ISSPRO M/N: R5503 and ran the lines direct to the plug without having to use the ISSPRO harness (filter not required).

actually I cannot find the receipt for it and there's nowhere on the gauge that says the number so I'm kind of doubting i that I bought this from Geno's but look it up online again and here's the numbers
