Odometer not working but speedo does

Postby KTA » Sun Oct 26, 2014 1:02 pm

So I am still having problems with the electric speedometer in my crew cab swap. I put in a new set of gears and it still won't read. I get speedo action but nothing on the odo. There are 3 wires coming to the speedo is it possible the odo picks up from the RWAL sensor instead of the speedometer drive on the trans? I find it odd that I have two clusters and neither one works on the odo. That would suck if the circuit boards were bad in both of them.

Just for refrence for people if you have a reading speedo your odometer should work too. if it doesn't the problem is in the odometer somewhere. I took the one out of my 318000+mile service truck and swapped it in my crew and now it works. Apparently I had a bad circuit board/motor in my other one. Now I can check the fuel mileage with my 4.56's just for kicks before I swap to the 3.07's. My estimate from last weeks driving knowing where I had been was 16mpg so I am curious to see how close I am. That old 360 pig couldn't average 10 so at least it is an improvement! I really want 20mpg though!
