Power Mirrors Don't Move

Postby cummins1992 » Sun Oct 26, 2014 7:35 pm

My power mirrors don't move at all. I am getting power to the switch, and I've tested another switch in the pickup too. Still nothing. The mirrors dont even make any sound like they are trying to move. Any thoughts?

Well somebody off the power mirrors at one time. I removed the mirrors and their was no power cord on them. The pickup is supposed to have power mirrors but somebody prior to me decided the pickup did not need them.

Well that would do it.

I just recently replaced my passenger side power mirror since the lens had broken, and previous owner installed a plastic stick on lens many moons ago that was faded and warped.

Anyway I went with one of the aftermarket units. Was good except the main body mount cover...the chrome piece on the door would not slip down cleanly. I could not get the lower set screw to even start...sat out too far. Also I did not like the way the "new" bracket fit on the door...so I swapped the old bracket, and lower cover from the old unit. And everything fell together after that.

The main mirror, chrome mirror shell and wiring all were fine, and works good.
