Cummins harness compatibility QUESTION

Postby Collers9640 » Wed Jan 07, 2015 6:57 am

I'm asking this before I start trouble shooting hoping someone might know something that will save me some time
I'm doing an swap into a gas w250.
Ok I put a 91.5 d250 cummins engine bay wire harness in a 90 W250 gas truck.
I left the steering column from the 90' in and also the harness connection point (where you bolt the harness into the firewall).
But I get nothing when I turn the key.
So my question is do have a compatibility issue between the engine bay cummins harness and the firewall-back gas truck harness?

Different. the diesels have some electronic circuits the gassers don't. A factory service manual for each year and option should show a pin difference. Easiest thing would be to put the dash panel and wiring harness from the donor truck. Easier said then done I will admit.

The dash harness can be changed with the dash in the truck but you will have to change it or do some rewiring.
