cruise control switches broken

Postby doc187 » Sat Feb 21, 2015 9:07 pm

I used the shop manual and got it diagnosed to the switches. Of course I can't find any so I tried to replace the internal switches but still won't work. Anyone know where I can find a set of switches? I'm willing to pay top dollar. That or has anyone had any luck fixing the switches? My truck is really clean and all original and I'd like to keep it that way so I'm not interested in an aftermarket kit.

Although i might hesitate to do it to a clean original truck, the PO of my truck added a gm style cruise control stalk which bypassed the troublesome clockspring and factory switches. lt took a bit of getting used to since Ive owned nothing but mopars but I like it and its given me zero trouble.

Thanks for the part number. I bought a new one today online using the number but I'm sure I'll get an email that they can't get the part. I found a 93 dakota on craigslist that was being parted out so I bought the switches. First I hope the guy really seems them and then I hope they work. Fingers crossed.

Sure enough I got an email saying they are out of stock and the guy on craigslist who sold me the switches suddenly forgot how to use a phone once he got his money. I did however find a three spoke wheel with switches on eBay so as long as they work I'm all set.

I have grabbed a couple spare set's from Dakotas just for this reason. Hope the new wheel and switches work for you.

If the used stuff don't work out then you might have to call a dealer and talk with them. They can find you some that another dealer might have on the shelf. There's no doubting they're not being made anymore, from my understanding there's only like a 10,15 year window on part supply from the manufacturer.
