Wait to start light not coming on....

Postby thrashingcows » Tue May 05, 2015 5:15 pm

I have noticed that there have been a number of threads started about this problem, here and on other forums. I wanted to put out a solution I have found that seems to work on my truck. Just did this today actually.

Every so often my WTS light, as well as the water in fuel light, stop working. It has done this at least 3 times over the past year, since finishing the 4wd conversion on the crewcab and switching to the complete 93 system.

What I have done to rectify the problem...at least for a while...is to disconnect the battery, both positive and negative cables, for at least 5 minutes. Hook them back up and everything seems to work fine again.

Hope this works for others as well. :)

Maybe you should check your grounds?

I'm pretty sure on my truck that it has nothing to do with grounds, or connections. I am very diligent when it comes to making sure all my systems are operating properly, that includes all the grounds. Dielectric grease, and shiny metal under the grounds are used in all my electrical work. I think this is just a quirk of a 22 year old PCM, and it likes to take a break from time to time. Just needs to be powered down every so often so that it resets and starts working again. ;)

I could see there being a solder joint or something on the pcb that's gone bad.
