fuse link replace with fuses

Postby 93cummins89 » Sat May 09, 2015 8:26 am

once again i call on the help of the diesel people. I'm rewiring my d250(as well all know) but iv come to the point of wiring my main batt + into a fuse block and i need to know what size(amp) fuses to place with what used to be fuse link wire....basically turning fuse links into fuses in a block i.e what size fuse should be used with the two power wires that go to the key? once again many thanks for any info i can get.

Do some searching here on the 1stGen, and over on the DTR and CF...there are a few threads on these boards that discuss this.

I have not go to to that point yet on my truck, so i have paid little attention to the threads. But I know the grid heaters require 120amp fuses.

you can buy fuselink wire to replace the old fuselinks .

I had a old ramcharger with really messed up wiring that I replaced the fuselinks with automotive circuit breakers . they would trip out , then when cool down they would automatically reset .

they looked something like this ,
