Wait to start light flashing while driving

I had an interesting issue on my way home. The "wait to start" light came on and started flashing on and off and one second intervals as I was driving down the road. When I cycled the ignition of and on it stayed off for about 10 minutes then came on in the same fashion. I am assuming that this is some sort of a diag or warning indicator for the grid heater circuit. Has anyone seen this issue?
