Assuming it is running other than wiring and you only want to run a few minutes at each end all you need is a charged battery. If your FSS is still in the circuit you will need to run a hot wire to it. Make sure you have a good ground between engine block and frame as well as battery and frame. you will have to short the starter solenoid which in a pinch can be done with a screwdriver but to do it properly you should have an inline momentary switch in a cable with alligator clips on each end to hook onto the solenoid. Should be able to pick up at any auto parts store. Once it is running it will stay running till you shut it down with the manual shutoff under the hood. As said in the first line this assumes no problems other than wiring.

yes it runs mechanical but has no wiring at all so all i need it just a "hot wire" to get it on and off trailer...can a push button be use for a momentary switch? and what/where is the manual shutoff? or do u mean pull the tire off the FSS?
thanks

If the FSS is working properly, then just pulling the wire off the FSS will kill the motor. If it is not working properly, then you can use the manual shut down lever on the side of the IP.
