im wanting to install a push button start and was wondering if i need the starter relay or if its ok to just do with out it. also anything else i may need?

no the key and switch are fine just going for something different..got to rewire the whole truck any way..picking up my painless kit from jegs today

A relay works best, then you have full voltage going to the pull in coil on the starter and it's not going thru the push button to cook it.

There are push buttons rated for and made for starters. However, a small push button, or momentary toggle switch to a relay can be hidden for an anti theft deterrent.
RIP 91.5 W250 5 speed. The great experiment.

I want set it up kinda like a race car with switches that control the main power like a key then a few accessory switches and the start button
